Experience does matter. Vicki has been proudly serving Virginians since 1998. And we also know that selecting the right attorney for your case can be a stressful process. Our goal is always to handle your case professionally, ethically, and efficiently. You will always be treated with respect and dignity here. And we understand and appreciate that litigation is often both expensive and uncertain.

Here’s an idea of what to expect when you decide to hire Wiese Law Firm for your case:

Our representation officially begins when a legal services agreement is signed and the required retainer funds are paid in full. All clients must sign a legal services agreement, which sets forth the terms of our representation, and also the fees to be charged. You will then fill out various forms with information we need to begin our representation.  We will also specifically ask you if you wish to authorize us to talk with other family members or friends about your case.  Sometimes talking things through with other people close to you can help us better develop strategies and implement the best plan of action for you.

Next, we develop a legal strategy with your input and approval. We strongly encourage, and welcome, full and frank discussions about your case and how to effectively and efficiently pursue your goals. We will advise you of any potential pitfalls and weaknesses in your case. We also consider alternatives to litigation when they are appropriate. Examples of litigation alternatives may include mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law.

We also recognize that sometimes additional expertise is needed in a case because lawyers can’t (and shouldn’t) try to do it all. Some examples include psychological evaluations, property appraisals, a forensic accounting, or substance abuse assessments. With over 26 years of legal experience, we are fortunate to have cultivated a strong network of competent and caring professionals we routinely reach out to when a case has “legally adjacent” needs.

All clients are also regularly copied on pleadings and correspondence throughout the duration of the case. Each month, you will also receive a detailed billing statement reflecting all work performed on your case for you to review.

When your case is ultimately concluded, a closing letter and a final bill will be sent to you. We will also review any rights of appeal you may have, and we advise you of any appeal time constraints and possible costs associated with an appeal. Any original documents you have provided to us will be promptly returned to you, and your case will be privately and confidentially retained for a set number of years.

In the end, it is of utmost importance to us that you feel comfortable not only with the legal process, but that you also feel equally confident in our overall strategies and in our representation of you. We are here to listen and to help you — we are not here to judge you.

At Wiese Law Firm, we sincerely welcome the opportunity to be of service to you and your family in your time of need.
